Policy

ILTA and its leadership are at the forefront of potential changes that could affect the real estate and title industry by actively monitoring legislative efforts at the state and federal levels. ILTA also takes a proactive approach by advocating for meaningful changes to rules and regulations. The goal is for all consumers to enjoy seamless real estate transactions!

When the Indiana General Assembly is in session and during the interim, ILTA is actively meeting with decision-makers to advocate for best practices in insurance policy and consumer rights. We foster a collaborative approach with all involved and help our members make connections with their legislators and stakeholders in their local communities.

Our official advocacy arm is the Indiana Title Political Action Committee. We also use ALTA’s Title Action Network to communicate with our local legislators in addition to keeping up-to-date with federal issues.

What is ILTA?

A lot has changed in our industry, but our strong commitment to our members remains the same. Since its formation in 1907, the Indiana Land Title Association has worked to protect the land title industry in Indiana. Amid the changing regulations and the ups and downs of the market, ILTA has stood by its members to offer high-quality education, networking opportunities, and legislative advocacy. We stand for the highest principles of professionalism and consumer protection, advocating for the safe and efficient transfer of real property. A home is likely the largest investment any individual will make in his or her lifetime, and by ensuring accurate searches, promoting fair and professional closings, and supporting important insurance coverages, ILTA protects Indiana consumers' property rights.
