ALTA Representative

Patrick H. Beall, Group President
Pat Beall serves as Group President, with responsibility for agency operations and Stewart’s mortgage service offerings. In this role, he oversees a diverse range of Stewart’s business areas, including independent title agency network of Trusted Providers in the U.S.; technology sales for the agency network; Stewart Lender Services, and its offerings for loan originators, services, and related providers; and Stewart Vacation Ownership.

Most recently, Beall served as Executive Vice President, Senior Director of agency operations. Previously, he was the south-central states District Manager for agency operations, with direct and indirect responsibility for Stewart’s independent agency network in 22 states. His extensive experience includes title insurance, underwriting, and real estate tax services. A Stewart associate since 1986, Beall has also served as President of two affiliated entities, Professional Real Estate Tax Service and Baca Landata.

Beall is a member of the American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) Board of Governors. He serves on the association’s Title Insurance Underwriter’s Section Executive Committee. He’s also a member of the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) and its Finance Committee. Beall previously served on the Oklahoma Land Title Association’s board of directors. He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Glenn Bill, who received his real estate license at the age of 19, pioneered his way to the top before wisely purchasing a national franchise within 4 years! Through passion, vision, drive, and innate skill, he applied the principals found in his book “The ABC’s of Attitude,” to grow his organization into a multi-million-dollar revenue generating company and Top 10 national franchise.

Glenn has a desire to influence the youth by teaching them the values of teamwork, upward thinking, and unity. He was an assistant coach of his local high school team for over 20 years, helping lead them to 13 State Championships, an Indiana high school record!

Donna Anderson, Agency Business Specialist
Donna Anderson has spent the past 30 years in the Real Estate & Title industry in various roles. Throughout her career, she’s worked with employee engagement, training, technology, sales, and management. This experience is encapsulated today in her role at North American Title Insurance Company. Whether working with Title Agents across the country helping them with technology, consulting on business efficiencies, or working with State Agency Managers on projects, training and education, or sales, Donna is constantly aware of the challenges that are faced in the Title Insurance space when it comes to recruiting, training, and retaining quality employees. She is always looking for ways to help title agency owners improve processes and find and retain quality staff.

Based in Ohio, just outside of Cleveland, she has two millennial sons and three amazing grandchildren, and there is nothing that compares to how wonderful they are.
  
Scott J. Fandre, Partner
Scott Fandre is a member of his firm's Real Estate, Litigation, and Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Groups.  He focuses his practice on commercial foreclosures and workouts, title insurance litigation, and insurance regulatory matters, real estate, property development, construction, and insurance.

As Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for a large title insurance company in Chicago, Scott litigated real estate cases at the trial and appellate court levels for claims in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio for more than 20 years.  He also handled high liability title insurance claims throughout the Northeast as Regional Claims Counsel in New York City.  Scott has taught training classes and presented seminars throughout the country on title insurance, real estate, and construction law.
 
Thomas R. Fickle, Indiana Agency Services Manager
Tom Fickle currently is the Indiana Agency Services Manager (ASM) for Stewart Title Guaranty.   As an active member of the Indiana Land Title Association, he has served on many committees, including the Board of Governors.  Tom served as President of Indiana Land Title Association for the years 1999-2000.  A native of Fickle, Indiana, his first experience with the title industry was a visit to Adrian Marks in Frankfort over a family owned tract of land outside of Fickle, Indiana, in Clinton County.  He is a 1974 graduate of Vincennes University of the Real Estate Abstracting and Title Associate degree program co-sponsored by the Indiana Land Title Association and the American Land Title Association.  Tom has worked in the title industry since 1975 in various positions as an Agent and an Underwriter.
 
Adam Gwaltney
Adam Gwaltney is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance and has been practicing for 20 years. He specializes in numerous types of Professional Liability Insurance to include Legal Professional Liability, Title Agent Errors & Omissions, and Cyber Liability Insurance. He has been a frequent speaker for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and The Indiana State Bar Association. Adam has also been a contributor to The Law Street Journal and The Title Report, is an approved CE and CLE provider, and conducts webinars and speeches for the American Land Title Association (ALTA), Indiana Land Title Association (ILTA), Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA) and The Ohio Land Title Association. Adam speaking topics include Legal Professional Liability, Law Practice Management, Ethics, Title Agent Errors & Omissions, Cyber Liability, Fraud and Crime Insurance.

Adam is proud to be a 35 year veteran of the Boy Scouts of America and he is an avid outdoorsman. He is a 2005 recipient of The District Award of Merit and has served his local Boy Scout District and Indiana Council in numerous leadership and training positions. He is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), The Indiana Land Title Association (ILTA), Anderson First Church of the Nazarene and The Boy Scouts of America. 

Adam is a life-long Hoosier and was born, raised, and resides in Anderson, Indiana with his wife of 29 years, Tana. He's the proud parent of an Eagle Scout, his son Jordan, who is also a 2014 graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.  
He spends his free time volunteering with The Boy Scouts, woodworking, traveling with his wife and spending time in the outdoors.
 
Jonathan Handsborough, Title Director, Indiana Department of Insurance
Jonathan Handsborough is the Title Division Director at the Indiana Department of Insurance. The purpose of the Indiana Department of Insurance is to protect Hoosiers as they purchase and use insurance products to keep their assets and families form loss or harm. Consumers may need assistance with certain claim situations or just help in understanding how their policies work. The Department’s primary obligation is to monitor the financial solvency of the insurance companies domiciled in Indiana so that the legal promises made in insurance policies are honored.

The Title Division examines the business practices of resident and non-resident agents, agencies, and underwriters who conduct business in the State of Indiana. The Title Division also oversees all the licensing, administrative matters, consumer complaints, and enforcement matters regarding title insurance licenses in Indiana. Prior to this current role, Jonathan served as the Non-Residential Auditor/Senior Examiner for three years with the Department. Before joining the Department Jonathan co-owned an Insurance Firm for ten years and worked as a Hospital Administrator in Austin, Texas. Jonathan obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, is a member of the National Black MBA Association Twin Cities Chapter and is a member of the Indiana Inter-Agency Mortgage Lending and Fraud Prevention Task Force.
 
Laura L. Hardy, AVP and Division Underwriter Counsel (South Central District), Old Republic National Title Insurance Company
Laura Hardy is a Division Underwriting Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. In this role, she assists agents in seven states, providing day-to-day underwriting support and aiding in complex projects from order to closing. She assists corporate underwriting and the national commercial group with multi-site transactions when sites fall within her region. Laura has developed and presented numerous educational seminars for agents and land title associations in her territory. She also acts as Counsel for Old Republic Title Company of St. Louis, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, conducting commercial closings and assisting with underwriting, compliance, escrow, construction disbursing, and company policies and training. Laura lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband, Ryan, son, Mason, and daughter, Noelle.
 
Karen T. Hart, Vice President – Director Corporate Escrow Operations
As Sr. Vice President/Director of Corporate Escrow Operations and a principal partner, Karen brings 41 years of experience to her role. She began her career with Meridian Title and has held many positions within the company during her tenure. Under her management, the development of Meridian Title’s escrow services and escrow staff has been key to establishing the company as a leader within the industry. Karen is a certified real estate continuing education instructor in the State of Indiana and a frequent presenter of real estate and title related topics and developments, helping to educate and inform industry professionals.
 
Richard E. Hendrickson, Attorney
Richard E. Hendrickson is an attorney with Codilis Law, LLC.  His practice focuses on real estate law, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and title insurance. He has written articles and spoken to attorneys, real estate agents, and title professionals on various aspects of real estate law. Hendrickson served as Indiana State Counsel for a national title insurance company and is past president of the Indiana Land Title Association, as well as former Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Probate, Trust, and Real Property Section. He earned his B.A. degree from DePauw University and his J.D. degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
 
Susan Jones, President/Co-owner
Susan Jones is President and co-owner of Royal Title Services - Statewide.  Her professional career reflects over 20 years of commercial real estate industry experience in the Land Title Insurance business by providing full-service land title information and real estate closings that serve local, statewide, and national customers. Her professional and volunteer positions include being State President of the Indiana Land Title Association, President of the Western Division of the Board of Realtors, President of the Avon Rotary, President of the Indianapolis Title Association, Trustee at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Trustee at the Indiana Historical Society.  Additionally, she has been chosen by the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ) to be in the “40 Under Forty” and Royal Title has been named in the IBJ, as one of the top Women-Owned Businesses. 

Susan speaks to Land Title, Realtor, and Lending groups on various Personal Development and Real Estate related topics and is a graduate of Purdue University.
 
Danielle L. Kaiser, Vice President and Regional Underwriting Counsel
Danielle L. Kaiser is Vice President and Regional Underwriting Counsel with North American Title Insurance Company (NATIC). Danielle provides underwriting support for agents in Indiana and Ohio as well as the Eastern region. She serves as NATIC’s forms counsel and takes an active role as NATIC’s e-notarization and e-closing team advisor and in broader underwriting issues for NATIC. Throughout her career, Danielle has taken a decisive role in developing legislation and compliance matters. she graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with dual majors in finance and economics, then went on to graduate from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. 

Danielle has earned the prestigious National Title Professional designation from the American Land Title Association. She is a Past President of the Indiana Land Title Association and past chair of several of its committees. She is also a member of the Ohio Land Title Association, serving on its education and government affairs committees. Danielle is admitted to practice law in Indiana and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. She's a member of IndyCREW and is a CREW National Leadership Certificate candidate. Danielle resides in Westfield, Indiana with her husband Jason, son Landon, and golden retriever Derby.
  
Krista B. Lockyear
Krista Lockyear is the owner and sole practitioner of Lockyear Law, LLC and President of Lockyear Commercial Title, LLC in Evansville, Indiana. Ms. Lockyear represents clients in all matters of real estate, zoning and land use, and business law. Her practice also includes guardianships, probate matters, and estate planning.





 
 
Nicholas R. Merker, Partner and Co-Chair of Data Security and Privacy Practice
Nick Merker is a partner and co-chair of Ice Miller’s Data Security and Privacy Practice. His experience is unique, as he is one of only a handful of DSP lawyers in the country who can say that they’ve worked as a computer systems, network and security engineer for 10 years before practicing law. Nick’s forte is being able to quickly judge a room at a client site and determining which hat to wear – lawyer, technologist, or some combination thereof. Nick’s technology background gives him the unique ability to bridge the gap between lawyers and technologists, often times translating between the two disparate disciplines to resolve legal issues. He strives to provide practical advice to clients that they can go implement immediately rather than generate long-winded academic answers to basic legal questions.
 
Jennifer Parker, General Manager of Digital Mortgage Solutions, Notarize
Jennifer Parker is the General Manager of Digital Mortgage Solutions for Notarize, the first online notary service allowing anyone to get their documents legally notarized, 24/7. Notarize helps people execute the most important transactions of their lives and to make legal notarization more efficient, secure and verifiable. In her role, Jennifer is responsible for leading the strategic direction and overall success of the Notarize Mortgage Solution for customers and key industry partners.

Prior to joining Notarize, Parker managed Fannie Mae’s e-Mortgage program. Under her direction, the team focused on program/product management, market strategies, brand awareness, and management of key interagency relationships (FHFA, CFPB, etc.). During her tenure, Fannie Mae’s e-Mortgage program realized record growth with more new market entrants than at any other time in the history of the program.

Throughout her career, Parker has held various positions in the mortgage industry ranging from leading operations and sales teams within Fortune 500 lending institutions to co-owning a mortgage bank. She attributes her success to a deep and broad understanding of the wholesale, retail and secondary mortgage markets.

After successfully selling her mortgage bank, Parker left the housing finance market from late 2007 until early 2012 to pursue personal passions in other vertical markets: retail management and non-profit. During this time, she successfully started and sold an interior decorating company and held executive leadership/board roles with two non-profit organizations aimed at solving civic and social causes.

Parker has served on the National Association of Mortgage Women’s (NAPMW) Board, led board efforts as Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas and as the Development Director of Wonders & Worries, and, most recently, volunteered as Community Development Lead for Ward 5 in Washington D.C.
  
Dawn Deputy Poe, Business Development Manager
Dawn is an Indiana native and graduate of IU.  She has 2 children at IU, 2 grown step-daughters, and 2 “granddogs”.  She lives in Noblesville with her “Realtor” Husband, Jeff, and their dog, Neli.  She enjoys music and concerts, traveling, the beach and spending time with family.
 
Dawn has been the Business Development Manager at Fairway since July 2017 but has been around the Real Estate Industry and affiliate companies for over 20 years.  She has a vast array of knowledge and experience in multiple fields.  Prior to Fairway, she was an Account Executive with First American Title for 4 1/2 years and before that, she served in multiple capacities with RE/MAX of Indiana’s Regional office.

Dawn is an active member of the Real Estate Community.  She is a graduate of the REAL Academy of Leadership and serves on the Board of Directors of The Realtor Foundation.

Nancy G. Pratt, Vice President – Partner Relations & Government Affairs
Nancy G. Pratt is the Vice President of Business Relationships and Government Affairs for Pavaso and provides team leadership in attaining company goals. She’s responsible for managing the strategic relationships for the growth of the company on a Federal and State level, and understanding key regulatory issues and laws that pertain to the operations of Pavaso. She is involved with sales support and strategy of the promotion and development of Digital Mortgage Solutions throughout the Title agent network and lender segment of the industry.

Nancy has over 12 years of experience in the e-Mortgage/e-Closing space, which plays a key role in leading the go-to-market and implementation strategies for both of Pavaso’s CFPB pilots. She has been in the mortgage and title industries for over 32 years. Highlights of her career include industry milestones of performing the first complete e-Mortgage with lenders and conducting the first ever FHA and VA e-Closings.

Nancy has been invited to speak at various industry conventions as an e-Closing/e-Mortgage subject expert. She is a Co-chair of the MBA, MISMO e-Mortgage Group and a member of the Residential Technology Committee. She is also a member of the ALTA Government Affairs, Public Relations, State Regulatory Action, and Technology Committee. She also has membership within PRIA, MBA, MISMO, ESRA, RESPRO, National e-Notarization Board, and has served on the e-Mortgage FNMA Innovation Team. She was also named one of the MReport’s Leading Ladies in the Housing Industry in 2015, and an MBA Tech All-Star award for 2016.
 
Kathy Riland-Hinton, Director of Strategic Media Initiatives, Meridian Title Corporation
Kathy joined Meridian Title Corporation in 1991 as an Account Manager. In her tenure, she has held a variety of other positions that include Sales Manager, Director of Marketing and Sales and Director of REO/Relocation. Currently, Kathy serves as the Director of Strategic Media Initiatives, responsible for implementing and maintaining Meridian Title’s own various social media platforms and supporting Meridian Title’s web services. Due to her extensive industry knowledge, Kathy has developed the company’s corporate new hire training program.

Prior to joining Meridian Title, Kathy was a successful residential real estate agent and branch manager for a top producing regional real estate company. Her experience makes her a sought-after real estate continuing education instructor who has presented courses on Title Insurance, Short Sales, Default Transactions, Social Media, Cyber Crime & Fraud and various platforms in Indiana and Michigan.

Kathy has also written and presented a collection of social media related programs for various trade organizations, service clubs, Chambers of Commerce, REALTOR Associations and RE Bar Camps. She co-presented “The Social Media Game Plan” in an October Research webinar and was a co-presenter of Power Up Your Marketing @ NS3 (National Settlement Services Summit) in 2017.
In addition to her extensive industry experience, Kathy is also a licensed Title Agent, Real Estate Broker, Continuing Education Instructor, ALTA HOP Leader and Corporation Trainer for Meridian Title.
 
Mary A. Slade, Indiana State Underwriting Counsel, First American Title Insurance Company
Mary Slade began her career in the title industry as an Assistant Regional Counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company, Ticor Title Insurance Company, and Security Union Title Insurance Company in 1996 including underwriting, claims, and auditing in six states. She has worked as a State Counsel, Field Customer Service Representative and Regional Counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty from 1999-2008. Opening Plunkett Cooney’s office in Indianapolis, Indiana offered the opportunity to return to her Indiana home and start her seven years in private practice as a real estate transaction and litigation attorney.

Mary’s 20 years in the title industry continues with joining First American Title Insurance Company in 2015: she currently serves as the Indiana State Underwriting Counsel assisting customers and Indiana title professionals successfully achieve real estate transactions and related insurance needs. With her claims background and as a former deputy prosecuting attorney, Mary is also a member of First American’s Fraud Prevention Practice Group. Besides being a frequent accredited speaker on real estate matters, Mary is a current and former editor of ILTA’s Handbook and ILTA’s Education Committee Chair. Mary is licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana and is the Vice Chair of the Probate, Trust, & Real Property Section of the Indiana State Bar Association
  
Richard Triola, President and CEO, Founder, NotaryCam Inc.
C. Richard Triola has been an entrepreneur all his life, starting with a paper route at the age of 12. After cutting his teeth as an Oppenheimer investment banker, Rick spent the past 30 years in the real estate industry in New York and California as a commercial real estate agent and syndicator, an executive at one of California’s largest independent escrow companies, and most recently as founder and CEO of a real estate-focused e-Signing company, Settleware Secure Services. His experience at Settleware made clear the need for a web-enabled electronic notary service.

Rick started NotaryCam to change the way documents get notarized; the result is NotaryCam’s virtual signing room, which allows any and all parties to legally execute and notarize contracts and other documents on demand over the internet while deploying the industry’s highest level of security and ID authentication. He has taken an active role with MBA (Mortgage Bankers Association), having served on the prestigious ResTech committee and Chairman of the Security Committee-steering, the Industry towards e-Commerce trends and technologies. Rick is also a member of the Chief Executive Officers Club, Virginia Land Title Association, the California Escrow Association and also served as Founder and President of the Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame in New York.
Rick has decades of real estate industry experience, in NY and CA, in residential and commercial, in sales and settlement. Since 1999 he has been a tech entrepreneur, focusing on e-Signing, e-Notary, and his “holy grail”, a completely electronic, frictionless, real estate and mortgage e-Closing.

Since its formation in 1907, the Indiana Land Title Association has worked to protect the land title industry in Indiana. Amid the changing regulations and the ups and downs of the market, ILTA has stood by its members to offer high-quality education, networking opportunities, and legislative advocacy. We stand for the highest principles of professionalism and consumer protection, advocating for the safe and efficient transfer of real property.
